This book is full of rare salsa tunes So if you are looking for salsa music it might be ok. But it is far away from a compilation of Latin standards
Lots of music here and I am performing Latin music with a singer. I need the music for timing, melody lines, and chords. So I was looking for a variety of Latin music. The book is like new. It will keep me busy for many hours.
The authentic Latin and Latin Jazz standards. Very handy bass and rhythm patterns included. A must for any serious performing Latin jazz ensemble.
This book has all the great Latin jazz charts you would want to play - Canteloupe Island, ARMANDOS RHUMBA, Evil Ways, Miami Beach Rhumba, and the Fool on the Hill are amongst my favorites.
I have wanted a copy of this for a long time, but at $40 felt it was a bit too much for me. Besides, there were only a few songs that I needed. Of all the fake books I've seen, this one reproduces the rhythmically complex music most accurately, and is set up as piano score with instrumental cues.
Easy to read layout (of course) and a boatload of Latin tunes I haven't found elsewhere.
