Front Row Seat: A Photographic Portrait of the Presidency of George W. Bush is an acceptable journey though the lens of Eric Draper. I was not as impressed as I had hoped with the quality of the photographs. The selected photographs do a good job telling the story but I feel as if there must have been better photographs to show. They seem to be second or third generation copies. Not as vivid as I would have expected from this type of book. Realizing Mr. Draper switched to Digital from Film, it would have been nice to know more about when the transition happened and what photos.I'd buy it again because it is an important account of our nation's history.Hopefully Mr. Draper will consider another book with never before seen images in better resolution.
Eric Draper is one of my photography heroes. Whether you love or hate President G.W. Bush... Eric is the guy who took nearly every iconic photo of the man, and I am under the opinion that without Eric's work as his official "imagemaker", there's a good chance his public opinion polls would have looked considerably more dire. Eric has an eye for capturing humanity and compassion in his lens. These are two qualities the republican party is in dire need of, so I wish him the best of luck in his career forward. Eric's book is beautiful... It will not be a purchase you regret on either side of the aisle. His skills are something every political office needs.
One of the best among the fortunate who made the cut to become the Official White House Photographer.
Wonderful compilation of the many events that made the Bush Administration so special. Many of these pictures I recall first hand. Eric has done a great job and this book will remain a special personal memory of the great years I spent with President Bush. Thank you!

loved this book. mostly pictures but was a good book to have for history
I was a journalist-photographer earlier in my life and I found this book does a good job of presenting a man I personally admire. It includes photographs of Bush's way of being in crises as well as insights into the way he worked with his staff. The family side of his life is included as well and you really get to see how and why he adores his wife and family. Highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates this man.
