Keith Barker is one of the best ceritifcation book authors I have read. I've gone through A+, Security+, Network+, CCENT, CCNA, and CCNP and he is one of my favorites of all.
This book did not help me pass the exam. I did pass it with another book with a score of 750. My advice is to find a book that is more comprehensive and covers more material. However, the Labs and the DVD are great as they did help me with the simulations.
This book is concise and well written. It is an easy to read book about basic network theory and practices. It has clear examples, pictures and definitions to facilitate quick learning.
CD disc was missing....disc is needed for the lessons in the book(book is almost useless without the disc)
I used this book to teach myself through my Comp-tia course and it was extremely helpful and informative. I do not have a computer science/networking background and I was able to navigate through the book quite easily.

Upon reading this book i could safely say that both Wallace and Barker and well informed if the technologies. I say this because after looking elsewhere for additional information a lot of it referenced back to this book. The complementary CD has a lot of extras that will enforce what you've written and should be used if your looking to take the exam.
