Excellent, Easy-to-Understand Insights into Better Understanding the Word.I am a long time student of Jewish Roots, and have written a couple of books myself. This book is well worth reading. It requires no background, any believer can easily understand it; at the same time, those well acquainted with the Word (like pastors, professors, etc.) will also enjoy the read.Many of these insights can be found scattered elsewhere, but the author (not sure how I should refer to him) does a great job of bringing them together, as well as adding additional thoughts and clarifications. The chapters are brief, succinct, and leave you wanting more.Most of the insights he shared seem perfectly legitimate. His comments on Paul's restrictions on women, however, are quite a stretch. His reasoning that Paul refers to the Law to affirm his command limiting women from teaching, etc., does not refer to an exact quotation, but the teaching of the Torah. Priests were to teach the people. Priests had to be men.But other than that one caveat, I think this is an excellent book.

Just snippets of thought on this and that and some end so abruptly making them "head scratchers". His book 'The Jewish Gospel of John' was so profound, extraordinary, and wonderful, to the point of starting over to read again the moment you finish it. That's why I purchased this book. But this one just doesn't hold my interest. I turn the page expecting it to get better and it just doesn't for me. Honestly not even interested in finishing it. Perhaps my expectations were to high. Sorry, this is jut my opinion which doesn't count for very much anyway. We all think and feel differently.

This book should be owned b y every pastor. It contains insights that are invaluable when doing research on sermons. The true meaning of certain Hebrew words and how they apply add a new dimension to existing stories that we thought we knew. I rate this book as a high priority for your research collection.

Arrived from the UK quickly and it was in good condition. Recipes seem clear and concise...they are metric measures so be prepared with a scale that has grams and measuring cups and spoons with metric measures. Also be aware to any American bakers who have not lived elsewhere... Do not assume all ingredients are the same. Examples self -rising flour in the UK is not the same as in the USA. US Self rising flour has salt, the UK one does not. Strong flour is bread flour and caster sugar is bartender's or bakers sugar. Treacle is Molasses, but Golden syrup is NOT corn syrup. Icing sugar is powdered sugar...when in doubt look it up....have fun baking

I enjoy watching the British Baking Show on TV and decided to order a couple of the books. Being used, this thick book was a great value. The print is a little smaller than I expected, and of course, the measurements are metric, but I can cope with that and am glad I enjoy reading the history of the recipes and am glad I purchased it.

I’d love it if she wrote another military romance.Tia outranks Ryker in their elite Air Force surgical unit comprised of her and 4 men. There is underlying sexual tension between them, but any romantic relationship is strictly forbidden between an officer and an enlisted person. They fight it, but it’s inevitable as the case may be.The rock band Angel Fire is on a USO tour and Tia has connections with Skye, the wife of the lead singer, Ash and Forrest, the band manager. Ryker impresses the band with his ability to play bass guitar. Ryker has the opportunity to play with Angel Fire as his and Tia’s relationship deepens. Life spirals crazy in a war zone and both unforeseen & predictable complications come to the forefront. They have to make serious life decisions which are tough and change everything about their future.

I don’t know how Ellie Masters does it but she blends the two together and gives the the feeling of being deeply immersed in both worlds. In this book we’re introduced to Tia and Ryker who are both on deployment in Afghanistan. There chemistry is off the charts hot!! And you can’t help but to root for them and fall in love with them. We also get to see our favorite characters from Heart’s Insanity and rock out with the guys from Angles Fire-Blaze, Bash, Bent, Noodle and Spike as well as Skye and Forest.This is the third book in the Angle’s Fire series, although it can be read as a stand alone it’s better if you read Heart’s Insanity first. And I promise you will love it. You will get all the feels reading this book. It’s got danger, excitement and smoking hot sex not to mention a great story. It takes a gigantic leap of faith to say this is Book 2 in the Angel Fire series. This book has very little to do with Angel Fire, who only make an appearance in a supporting role halfway through the book. This book serves no purpose other than to set up the premise for Book 3. I quit reading at about 75%. Save your money and just skip on to Book 3. You won't have missed a thing.

I loved it from beginning to end it was exciting because it combined action in the military with rock bands. It all worked perfectly with the romance that was forbidden but eventually worked in their favor. This is a true romantic story that dealt with heavy emotional issues that the Tia and Ryker worked through and came out on top.

Love this author and love this series. Looking forward to the next book!

The book arrived excellent condition. Contains a good introduction to electron structure calculations with a large amount of interesting modern applications.

As analytical and synthesis techniques become more powerful, it is now possible to examine and fine-tune materials at the atomic scale. Likewise, continual advances in computer hardware and software have allowed more people the ability to model processes and materials at the atomic scale. Consequently, there is a growing need for good textbooks on the atomic and electronic structure of solids. Alas, most of the relevant textbooks suffer from one or more of the following drawbacks:1. There is too much math and physics for most people. In other words, there are too many equations, proofs, and derivations. This usually manifests itself in sections on quantum mechanics and ab initio modeling.2. The texts become less an educational tool and more a showcase of the latest and greatest achievements by the author(s). This negative can often be spotted by looking at the book's table of contents. If each chapter is written by a separate author, then you can be sure that the text often end up as extended reviews of that author(s)' publications.3. Not enough coverage of background information. The study of solids at the atomic level is being approached by multiple fields that usually have NO interdisciplinary overlap in education institutions. Examples include geology, electrical engineering, biochemistry, tribology, materials science, etc... Therefore, a book to serve members from all these fields should have a lot of background information in topics such as thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, crystal structure and defects, group theory, etc...4. Lack of pictorial representation. A picture is worth a thousand words; and even more so if you are trying to understand microscopic phenomena such as bonding, dislocation motion, etc... Too many textbooks have too few, well-explained pictures.This book by Kaxiras does not suffer from any of these drawbacks. I consider it the best book so far on this topic.First, it is written entirely by one author, yet I could not find a single reference to any of his publications within the book. There was absolutely no feeling that this book was trying to review someone's work, or some body of work. Instead, the book read like a well writtent textbook.Second, the topics are written for a general audience, with enough background information that undergraduate science and engineering students can understand it. Specifically, the first chapter of the book starts with the Periodic Table of Elements and explains why different elements form different types of solids. This is extremely valuable information for anyone who has never had a course in materials science, which probably means most chemists, electrical engineers, biologists, etc...3. Lots and lots of review literature is cited- WITH explanations of why it was suggested to the reader for further reading.4. I counted 1 picture per every 2 pages. That is astounding. Even though the pictures were B&W, I understand all of them. Every one had axes labeled, a legend, a descriptive header, etc...5. Thorough and basic explanation of band structures. Too many texts spend too much time explaining the different methods of obtaining band structures (LMTO, LAPW, pseudopotential + plane waves, APW, PAW, etc...). This book instead provided a whole chapter on understanding a band diagram, correlating a band diagram with the geometry of a material, and the physical origins of band structures. This is prerequisite knowledge before any further attempts to understand the electronic properties of materials.6. Justification of each approximation, along with accompanying successes and failures. This book examined the mean-field, Born-Oppenheimer, frozen-phonon, pseudopotential, and other approximations commonly used in atomic-scale modeling, and provided thorough, well-organized justification of each one, along with a listing of their successes and failures.In all, I recommend this book to anyone as a prerequisite reading before attempting to do research on the atomic or electronic structure of materials.

It's because of books like these that I've never had to take a formal quantum mechanics course to understand electronic structure theory. Hands down, this is one of the best theoretical solid state physics books.

It is perfect for a young reader as the subject matter is very appealing to a soccer fan yet it introduces more complex vocabulary (it is not a picture book). It is also a touching rags to riches story, one of perseverance, passion and drive. Highly recommended for young readers.

**I really want to give this book a 3.75. (It's not a four. It's not a 3.) But here we are.**Having spent a decade in the self-help space and as the author of two books myself, I have read many books of this type. I love what the author is up to in the world with DayBreaker and I have friends that love following her on Instagram. I would give the author a 5 star as a human and businesswoman, however, this review is just about the book.The book follows a "how to" formula, complete with changing fonts, images, cool acronyms and plenty of worksheets. (As a note, I was not able to find them all for the digital version when I went to the publisher's website.)I would recommend this book for folks in their 20's and early 30's. It has a lot of solutions to young person problems like fomo, dealing with social groups, etc.My biggest disappointment was the lack of meaningful, descriptive stories of the author's struggles as an entrepreneur. Personally, I learn best through story. I learn by feeling/hearing and living through some else's' journey. This book is not a provocative, depth-full look into what it is like to create a thriving social community and a community-based business, but rather a kind of playful, best-practices guide with a lot of very common ideas repackaged.Surely there are 100's of interesting personal and business related stories that could illuminate the incredible journey the author has been on to create her thriving businesses. I was hoping we were going to get to peek behind the curtain, but what we got was a very well prepared slide show.

Her antidote: be the F-Yeah Friend, the one who says "F-Yeah!" and shows up every time.This is an inspiring, honest, and practical manual for creating the kind of communities we all need and crave: ones that nurture our spirit. This book is a straight forward and enjoyable read. It provides simple but profound exercises to help the reader first go inside themselves to proactively identify what they're looking for in a community and/or core group of friends. It then walks you through the steps to using those insights to either find/join a group and even scale a community. Radha's transparency and vulnerability in sharing her own journey's ups and downs helps you realize you're not alone in feeling like you haven't found your people. If you get the opportunity to go to one of her events, I highly recommend it! The one in Phoenix was amazing and there are now groups and communities springing up as a result!!

I’ve read Belong twice already in the short time I’ve had it - and I keep coming back to the super practical (and fun) and inspiring exercises. It’s like having Radha with you all the time - mentoring you and helping to reframe your thinking, nudge you to put yourself out there, grab opportunities and make more intentional choices.
