Great to have this. It appears to follow the first two episodes of the Netflix series, however it has a slight difference of not being verbatim. I have not finished the book yet, but I am hoping that it provides a little additional from Carmen's perspective. I would like to have a book like this every season. :) Looking forward to the adventure books coming this year.

Great book.

Who in the World is Carmen Sandiego? is basically a kid-appropriate novelization of the first two episodes of the Netflix reboot. The reboot is awesome (I love the animation!), and this novelization is a good one. I liked that we learned more about the world from Chase's point of view, about Carmen and Grey's relationship, and got to see some of Paper Star's time at VILE Academy. All in all, I'm happy with both the reboot and the novelization. I would be interested in seeing more novelizations of the other episodes.

Put this in the DNF pile. It's basically a retelling of the first few episodes of the show. What I didn't like was there were two female students and they naturally had to be enemies. This story is aimed at children and setting up female characters to be enemies for no reason just perpetuates stereotypes that women are catty and "cool girls" only have guy friends.

Wait, you read the book which clearly says NETFLIX on the cover and expected it to be a different story? Having never watched the show, I thought the book was great! Despite having another female as the antagonist, there were several female characters who are awesome (3 of the 5 professors, one Interpol agent, and, ahem, CARMEN). It also introduces a moral dilemma that had gray area, but is simple enough for a school aged reader to follow (Not all "bad guys" are all bad, or all guys!)Looking forward to more...and to watch the show.

Loved this book.... listened to the audible version and am now buying hard copy for a teen who is ambivalent towards reading!

As a retelling of "Becoming Carmen Sandiego", it did help add to the backstory of the other students that were there. While some parts were underdeveloped, it was still a nice read for this new Carmen Sandiego series.

Dr. Paul S. Auerbach, FACEP, FAWM, is the Redlich Family Professor of Surgery in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is the world's leading expert on wilderness medicine and a prolific author. He is the Editor of Wilderness Medicine, and author of Medicine for the Outdoors and Field Guide to Wilderness Medicine. Dr. Auerbach holds his MD from Duke and completed his internship at Dartmouth and residency at UCLA. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. I reading this the second time as there is so much good information to try and absorb. I find that it provides a good balance between things that you can attempt on your own and when you should head to the emergency room right away.I believe this book is very well suited to have in your library as a reference. If you find yourself needing it right away as in an emergency, the text is not suited for quick on the spot prognosis of most ailments. You need to have read this book in advance and really understood the things that he is describing.

Dr. Auerbach's book is simply an amazing accomplishment, in a very small space he has managed to pack so much! This is THE book if you had to have one (which of course you shouldn't!) to take with you on a march into the wilds fleeing an apocalyptic collapse of the world as we know it. It assumes knowledge, but you don't need to be an EMT or medical student to use it.The information on each topic (everything from wildfires, to hypothermia, to terrorism or snake bite, it's all here) comes with great step-by-step guides on how to deal with it. A must have for any library and backpack!

This is the third edition of this book I have owned. Each edition is better, more thorough and complete. I approach this book with 40 years of outdoor experience, numerous first aid classes during that time, and having certified as a WFR about 3 months ago. If I could only pick one reference to take with me on a remote expedition, into a disaster zone, or on a foreign trip, this would be the book. (I have the hard copy and keep an electronic copy on my phone and tablet.) It covers the gamut from basic first aid, through more advanced treatment I am trained on, to more advanced treatments (some of which I would try in a real pinch and some I would not attempt). I think it is great reference up through the WFR or EMT level for wilderness medicine, although even more advanced providers may find it useful if they have little or no background or training in wilderness and austere environment. The only persistent knock I have on the book is that its organization is not quite as good as it could be, although I do believe it has improved somewhat with the latest revision and there are copious cross references to help you locate the correct information if you end up in an incorrect but related place.

This concise manual is a must for outdoor enthusiasts. Gives more information than a basics first aid class/manual without having to go through some lengthy EMT class

The book is well written and it covers everything that a layman would need to know. I keep it in a well stocked first aid kit.

Recommended for Emergency Responders and everyone else. Think of it as the Chilton's Manual for Homo sapiens.

This is an excellent resource for wilderness first aid (or anytime EMS will take a long time to arrive). It even includes information on medications and some relatively advanced procedures that can be done in the field.

I found some useful information in this book, but some of the main info I was looking for was not there. I’ve owned an inversion table for about five years but until recently hadn’t used it that often. Becoming more aware of all the health benefits of it, I’ve decided to make this part of my daily routine. I bought this book hoping to find info on the best way to go about this. One of my main inquiries was how often to do it and for how long. Well, the book did address the how often part- once a day starting out, up to twice a day thereafter. But practically no information was given regarding amount of time. The only info presented regarding time is “start slowly, just give it a minute or two..just do a couple minutes each time for the first few days.. don’t do longer than five minutes the first month”.Ok, great. But what about after the first few days? Should I move up to 5 minutes then? And how many days would I stay at 5 minutes? What about after the first month? What is the ideal amount of time to work towards? Can maximum benefit be achieved in 10 or 15 minutes, or would that require 30 minutes or longer? Or can I stay at 5 minutes and still get just as much benefit?I really wish this information would have been included.

I bought this looking for instruction on HOW to invert, mostly this is about WHY to invert. Additionally, I did not feel that the quality of information was equal to the price.

I've had an inversion table for 4 years but never used it much even though I believed it had great medical benefits. When I saw this book advertised on Amazon I had to have it. I've been using my inversion table every day and my back pain is hardly noticeable. Thank you!

But before reading it, my doctor told me I'm not a good candidate for inversion therapy so I haven't read the entire book. For those interested in inversion therapy I recommend seeing your doctor first to discuss and then get the book to learn about it.

Poorly written and has very little on the inversion exercise (only 4 pages, p.91-95).
